Organization Hacks for
Your Kitchen

May 9, 2016

Spice jars stacked haphazardly in the cabinets, pot and pan lids in chaos, and a mix of measuring cups and spoons in no right order—does this sound familiar? If this is you, we can help with some kitchen organization tips. This room should always feel welcoming, as it’s where family meals and birthday parties begin. But if it feels more like a mess than a hearth, we have some tips. Here are some easy kitchen organizational hacks to test out in your home:

Spicing Things up With Spice Jars

If your spices are hiding out in a cupboard, waiting to fall out at any moment, it might be time to give other options a good hard look. One of the best options is to attach a spice rack inside the cupboard door. This will increase space and give you an easy view of everything you have when it’s time to cook. Spice magnets are also a popular option. Purchase cylindrical, magnetic containers and adhere them to the side of the fridge. This way, it’s easy to see when something is running low and you still have extra space in your kitchen.

Putting a Lid on Haphazard Pot Lids

There are few things more vexing than needing a lid ASAP and searching high and low for the matching one. Luckily, it’s really easy to get your lids organized and create more space in your drawers at the same time. Simply attach a small curtain rod to the wall and slide the lids between the wall and the rod; their handles will catch on the rail and hold them in place. Who knew that the trick to organizing your kitchen was a few nails and a rod?

Measuring Success with Measuring Spoons

When you’re baking, you need the proper tools at the proper times or risk a half-puffed soufflé or crispy cookies. To keep your measuring cups and spoons in neat order, create a hook panel inside the cupboard door, where each size is labeled underneath. And if you really want to up the style, add a chalkboard above it, with a measurement converter table. How many cups are in a quart? Now you have a speedy answer.

With a few quick changes around the space, your kitchen will feel organized, clean, and ready for anything.
