The Maids International, LLC Privacy Notice explains our practices, defines our users’ (“you” or “your”) privacy options, and describes how your information is collected and used by The Maids International, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “The Maids”).

This Privacy Notice, along with our Cookie Policy and Terms of Use, governs your use of The Maids website at http://www.maids.com/ (the “Site”), our mobile applications (the “App”), and any information we may access through social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, or X (formerly Twitter). For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, we will refer to all of these access points collectively as The Maids system (the “System”).

Revisions to the Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will mark new versions with a corresponding effective date. We recommend you visit the Site periodically to review any changes in our practices. Your continued use of the System constitutes your agreement to our then-current Privacy Policy.

What Information is Collected?

The System automatically tracks and compiles certain data, including: Ad Views, Analytics, Browser Information, Cookie Data, Date/Time, Demographic Data, Hardware/Software Type, Interaction Data, Internet Service Provider, Page Views, Serving Domains, Targeting Data, Device ID, IP Address, Location Based Data, and Search History.

Information Collected Directly from You

We may collect personal information about you when you sign up for a mailing list, fill out a “Contact Us” form, apply for a job via our Careers site, request information about owning a The Maids franchise, submit information in connection with a purchase or estimate request, communicate via text message, or use other online and mobile services.

The lawful basis for collection of this information is based on your consent, The Maids’ legitimate interest, or as necessary to fulfill a contract with you. The information we may collect includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Name;
  • Email address, phone number, mailing address, and other location or contact information;
  • Financial information necessary to process a purchase or other request such as a franchise application;
  • Business affiliations;
  • Personal information and preferences to customize your cleaning plan;
  • Information about your home or office cleaning needs; and
  • Other information related to your requests or inquiries.

Information Collected Automatically

We use tracking technologies such as cookies, log files, and pixel tags to automatically collect information when users visit our System. Our lawful basis for collection of this data is our legitimate interest in completing your requests and maintaining a functional System. We collect:

  • IP addresses to measure our website traffic and to help provide a more personalized experience;
  • Information regarding your browser and other technical specifications required to use our System;
  • Your transaction history relating to the use of our products and services;
  • Computer data or files, often called “cookies,” which may be sent by your web browser and stored on an individual computer to allow our server to “recognize” you through the navigation of the Site, and for us to credit your account for various online transactions; and
  • Computer data files, often called “web beacons” or “clear GIFs,” that are collected from emails or links on third-party sites that allow our server to evaluate the popularity of those links or the information contained in emails or on third-party sites.

The Maids may collect your email address via cookies and pixels on the Site through the use of trusted third-party partners. These partners may combine your email information with other information they have access to, such as a mailing address, so that The Maids may serve relevant marketing offers to you via direct mail. If you do not want The Maids to collect this information about you, please contact us to opt out.

Collecting Information from Children

Our Site and System are not designed for children. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13 years of age. For residents of jurisdictions with stricter thresholds, including California, we do not knowingly collect or process information from individuals under the age of 16 without proper legal verification or parental consent. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

How Is the Information We Collect Used?

We collect information about you in order to provide you with services and products, and to make the System work properly. Our legitimate business interests, necessity to fulfill a contract or agreement with you, and your consent are the lawful bases for this type of data processing. We use personal information for purposes including but not limited to:

  • Providing services and support, performing the essential functions of the System, responding to inquiries, processing estimates, payments, troubleshooting, data aggregation, and performance reporting;
  • Communicating with users about products or services, sending direct marketing programs (such as newsletters), or leveraging content from social media platforms where users discuss our products or utilize our brand hashtags;
  • Personalizing user experiences on our System, including tailoring content based on user location, preferences, and other personalization factors;
  • Analytics and System improvement, tracking metrics to deliver better service, and evaluating the System to develop additional offerings;
  • Compliance with legal obligations, including sharing information to comply with the law, a subpoena, or a court order; and
  • Other purposes necessary to carry out our obligations under this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

Disclosure of Information

We may share information, in the aggregate, regarding your online browsing preferences to evaluate our products or allow our partners to better serve our users. We will not share personally identifiable information in these instances, other than as described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell users’ personal information to third parties for monetary compensation. We may provide user information to third-party service providers or vendors for purposes of: initiating direct marketing programs on our behalf, data tracking, system maintenance/development, customer service optimization, or other contracted promotional opportunities.

We may also share this information with any subsidiaries, licensees, suppliers, distributors, affiliates, assigns, successors, or other related entities and their respective owners. We may also share your personal information in connection with law enforcement requests, investigations, subpoenas, court orders, or to protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of our company, our customers, or others.

Business Transfers

We may disclose your information to a third party as part of a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or sale of the assets of The Maids, or its subsidiaries or divisions. Any third party to which The Maids transfers or sells the System or related assets will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you provided.

Mobile Application & SMS/Text Messaging

This section outlines our practices regarding our mobile applications (the “App”) and communication via Short Message Service (SMS) or text messaging (collectively, “Mobile Services”). By opting into or utilizing our Mobile Services, you agree to the practices described below.

  1. Information Collected via Mobile Services

When you interact with our Mobile Services, we may collect your mobile phone number provided when initiating or consenting to text communications. We may also collect your precise geolocation data (if enabled via your device settings) to direct you to your closest local franchise office or to optimize arrival tracking for your scheduled cleaning team, along with app usage analytics, device identifiers, and push notification preferences.

  1. How We Use Mobile Information

We use your mobile information strictly to provide operational system support, including sending scheduled cleaning reminders, estimated arrival times, payment notifications, and service updates. We may also send direct marketing offers, promotional discounts, and system newsletter alerts only if you have explicitly consented to receive marketing via text message.

  1. Third-Party Sharing Restrictions for Mobile Data

Strict Privacy Safeguard: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy, your mobile phone number, opt-in data, and text messaging consent will NOT be shared, rented, or sold to any third parties, affiliates, or partners for their own independent marketing or promotional purposes. We may share text messaging data with designated third-party vendors (such as text delivery platforms) strictly to act on our behalf to transmit communications you have requested; these vendors are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

  1. Your Choices & Opting Out

You can opt-out of receiving text messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any mobile message received from us. Once processed, you will receive a single confirmation message, and no further text marketing will be sent to your number. You can revoke our access to your precise location data at any time by adjusting the privacy settings on your mobile device or through the built-in application settings.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to gather information about your use of our System and to customize your experience.

  • Session cookies: Stored on the user’s hard drive temporarily and deleted when the browsing session ends.
  • Persistent cookies: Remain on the user’s hard drive until they expire or are cleared, useful for remembering login preferences.
  • Third-party cookies: Installed by third parties (such as advertisers) to track browsing habits and advertising preferences from site to site.
  • Clear GIFs/Web Beacons: Embedded files that tell us what content a user accesses and how they navigate the System to make it more intuitive.

Behavioral Advertising

We use third-party vendors, such as Google Analytics, to advertise online. These vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on your past visits to the Site. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising by using Google’s Ads Settings or by deploying an automated browser signal like Global Privacy Control (GPC).

How is User Information Protected?

We maintain robust administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers behind firewalls, and any payment transactions or highly sensitive data transfers are encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our System, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure; any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy or security measures contained on the System.

Data Retention

We retain data collected from you only for as long as necessary to complete the business or legal purpose for which it was collected, including satisfying any regulatory, accounting, or reporting requirements, and as long as needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Special Notice for California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

This California Privacy Notice supplements the general Privacy Notice and applies solely to residents of the State of California. We adopt this framework to comply fully with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

  1. Notice at Collection: Categories of Personal Information We Collect

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected (and may continue to collect) the following categories of personal information for our legal and business purposes:

  • Identifiers: Name, alias, postal address, email address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, IP address, or account name;
  • Customer Records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)): Telephone number, financial information (credit card details for payment processing or financial history for franchise applications);
  • Protected Classification Characteristics: Age (16 or older) or gender, if voluntarily provided during inquiries;
  • Commercial Information: Records of products or services purchased, transaction histories, and cleaning preferences;
  • Internet or Other Similar Network Activity: Browsing history, search history, online behavior, and interactions with our System;
  • Geolocation Data: Physical location or precise movements derived from device usage to assist you in finding local franchise offices; and
  • Inferences Drawn from Personal Information: Profiles reflecting your preferences, characteristics, and behavior used to customize your service experience.
  1. Sensitive Personal Information (SPI)

We collect and process certain categories of “Sensitive Personal Information,” including precise geolocation data and account login/financial information necessary to complete purchases or evaluate franchise applications. We do not use or disclose Sensitive Personal Information for purposes other than those specified under California Privacy Law exemptions (such as performing services reasonably expected by an ongoing business relationship).

  1. Sharing and “Selling” of Personal Information

While we do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary compensation, we do utilize third-party cookies, pixels, and tracking technologies to deliver cross-context behavioral advertising on our behalf. Under California law, this practice qualifies as “sharing” or a statutory “sale” of personal information. You have the right to opt-out of this sharing. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

  1. Your Rights Under California Law
  • Right to Know/Access: The right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared about you over the past 12 months;
  • Right to Delete: The right to request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain statutory exceptions;
  • Right to Correct: The right to request that we rectify inaccurate or outdated personal information maintained by us;
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: The right to direct us to stop “selling” or “sharing” your data for cross-context behavioral marketing;
  • Right to Limit Use of SPI: The right to request that we restrict our use of your Sensitive Personal Information to essential business functions; and
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA privacy rights.
  1. How to Exercise Your Rights

To submit a verifiable request to exercise your rights to know, delete, or correct, please email us at themaidsinfo@maids.com. We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. To opt-out of the sharing or sale of your information via automated tracking, you may toggle your cookie preferences using our cookie banner or deploy an automated browser signal such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). Our system recognizes and respects GPC opt-out preferences.

Do Not Track Signals

Except for automated legally recognized opt-out browser mechanisms (such as GPC) used to signify a consumer’s choice regarding behavioral tracking, the System does not currently respond to legacy browser “Do Not Track” signals.
