Various criteria for consideration included historical performance, brand identification, market dynamics, franchisee satisfaction, level of initial training and ongoing support, and financial stability. The Maids was also selected as a Top 25 Franchise for Hispanics for its commitment to the recruitment and advancement for minorities within the organization.

To be eligible for the Top 25 Franchises for Hispanics, companies were required to submit a Franchise Disclosure Document and financial information. They also had to have made a concerted corporate commitment to recruiting prospective franchisees from the Hispanic community over the past several years.
