In three short years with The Maids of Jacksonville, Veronica Madera rose from team member to Manager of the Year for the nationwide home services franchise. It is the highest honor given to a manager of The Maids.
Manager of the Year recognizes Madera as someone with exceptional ability in all areas, including team management, sales, customer relations, rapport with employees and work ethic.
Madera was surprised and humbled by her selection as The Maids Manager of the Year. She received the award at The Maids recent annual convention in Omaha, Neb., where the franchisor is based.
“The very first thing that came to mind was all I had been through and accomplished since my very first day with The Maids,” she says. “To be recognized is the best feeling and satisfaction a person who loves their job could receive.”
Madera enjoys seeing the potential in team members and watching them do well. She appreciates the opportunity to make customers happy. And mostly, she’s proud to provide her two children a good example of what it means to be hardworking. Someday, Madera intends to own her own franchise, operating it with the same family environment she feels at The Maids of Jacksonville.
The Maids of Jacksonville services the residents of Arlington, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Mandarin, Neptune Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach.
When they hired Madera in 2008, owners Rick Garmon and Cathy Hulsey knew they had found someone special and already had the role of operations manager in mind for her. But they also knew that in order to earn employees’ respect, Madera would need to begin working as a team member, and earn the promotion to manager.
“Veronica is an extremely dedicated and fastidious person. She beams with pride and satisfaction, taking care of the business as if it were her own,” Garmon says. “She has an innate ability to make strategic decisions that have ultimately led to an increase in customer retention and satisfaction.”
