Castillo Announced as THE MAIDS Home Services' Employee of the Year

Debra Castillo, a team leader of THE MAIDS Home Services in Tucson, Ariz., was recognized as the 2006 Employee of the Year at THE MAIDS Home Services Annual Convention in Las Vegas, March 1-4, 2007.
“I like the ability to talk with customers and really get to know them,” said Castillo. “Exceeding their expectations always gives me great satisfaction.”
THE MAIDS Home Services Employee of the Year award is designed to honor and recognize the one working employee who best reflects the ideals, standards and system of THE MAIDS Home Services. The employee’s work habits, overall job performance and rapport with fellow co-workers sets him or her apart in the minds of customers, employees, managers and owners.
“Debra is a role model that we challenge all new employees to emulate,” said Suzanne Faustlin, owner of THE MAIDS Home Services in Tucson. “She has the exceptional ability to continually inspire and interact with other employees in order to successfully infuse them with pride and dedication to THE MAIDS’ system.”
Castillo was chosen from employees at more than 160 THE MAIDS Home Services franchises throughout the United States and Canada. She has served as an employee at the Tucson location since the current owners bought the franchise nearly a decade ago. Castillo has great strength in juggling her work and home life, which includes her three young children, but she is also a respected and active member of the Navajo Nation.
“I just want everyone to know I didn’t do it alone,” said Castillo. “My team members are wonderful people to work with. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
As a part of her honor, Castillo received an all-expense paid trip to THE MAIDS Home Services Annual Convention in fabulous Las Vegas, a plaque and a $1,000 monetary gift.
“When I found out that I had received this honor, the only words I could say were ‘thank you, thank you’ and that’s not normal for me,” joked Castillo. “I’m flattered to receive an award like this. I’m just doing my job.”
