THE MAIDS Home Services Announces Team Member of the Year
Linda Potts, a team leader of THE MAIDS Home Services in Shelby County, Ala., was recognized as the 2007 Team Member of the Year at THE MAIDS Home Services National Convention in Scottsdale, Ariz., April 4, 2008. Potts was chosen from among more than 3,000 employees at THE MAIDS Home Services franchises throughout the United States and Canada.
The Team Member of the Year award is designed to honor and recognize the one team member who best reflects the ideals, standards and system of THE MAIDS Home Services, a franchised residential cleaning service. The employee’s work habits, overall job performance and rapport with fellow co-workers sets him or her apart in the minds of customers, employees, managers and owners.
Potts is a six-year employee with the THE MAIDS’ Shelby County location. As a team leader since 2002, she is a working supervisor of a team of four professional housecleaners. Each team member, including Potts, has a special job to perform each time he or she visits a home: bathroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning, dusting or vacuuming. As their supervisor, Potts not only works to keep other team members on task, but also provides quality assurance for every clean. Potts’ team cleans at least 25 homes every week in the elite Liberty Park neighborhood of Birmingham.
“I enjoy stepping back and seeing the end results of my work,” said Potts. “Being able to turn ‘oh my goodness’ into ‘wow’ gives me great satisfaction.”
“Linda does not recognize the word ‘no,’” said Kathy Senseman, franchise owner of THE MAIDS Home Services in Shelby County. “She strives to go the extra mile and puts in extra hours for the benefit of the company and her customers. Linda vanquishes the competition in her relentless pursuit of the perfect clean.”
Potts is also known for her attention to detail. Customers remark that Potts routinely goes through the entire house before leaving and makes sure everything is as it should be. One regular customer said, “I can’t tell you how many times she has been on her hands and knees, combing the fringe on my rug, as she goes out the door.”
As a part of her honor, Potts received an all-expense paid trip to THE MAIDS Home Services National Convention, a plaque and a monetary gift.
