The Maids Participate in Worthy Cause that Hits Close to Home

On Saturday, May 5, 2007, The Maids of North Hampton, N.H., partnered with the New Hampshire chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society by participating in their annual MS Walk. This year, The Maids had the walk's second largest team - a team of 25 participants.  The Maids' team raised over $3,100.00 for the event and received an award for Top Corporate Fundraising Team.

For The Maids, MS hits close to home. Customer Service Managers Jennifer Hilton and April Rattray, both have parents who suffer from MS.  Along with family members battling MS, one of their loyal customers has lived with it for many years and The Maids has developed customized services to fit her special needs. For an organization that is so intimately involved in the lives of the people it serves,

joining the fight against MS was an easy decision for the franchise.

The five mile walk through historic downtown Portsmouth, N.H., is more than just a fundraising event; it is a celebration for an entire community. The donations that pour in fund countless programs, services and research, and the event itself creates a hope-filled and fun atmosphere for everyone affected by MS, while generating a greater public awareness of the disease.

This event has become an annual event for The Maids of North Hampton. The number of employees participating has increased each year since 2005, from a team of seven to this year's 25 participants.  The employees enjoy volunteering and being able to make a contribution.
