Lloyd and Katie Somers of Denver, N.C., recently opened a franchise of The Maids, a home cleaning service that specializes in cleaning for health.  The new franchise is located at 278 Highway 16N in Denver, and will be serving the residents of  Denver, Mooresville, Davidson, Troutman, Stanley, Sherrills Ford, Terrell, Mountain Island Lake and Northern Lake Wiley communities. The Maids of Three Lakes is the fourth The Maids franchise in the Charlotte area.

Both Lloyd and Katie will be involved in running the day-to-day operation of the business.  Lloyd brings a background as a technology executive for a global business services firm, and Katie, a background in office management.  Together, the two are looking forward to what has been a lifelong dream of owning a business and working within their community.
The Somers have lived in the area for more than 15 years and are looking forward to providing the highest quality and value of home cleaning services, all while working to give back to the community they live in. “In the time we’ve been here, this community has grown to be an extension of our family,” Lloyd said. “So it only makes sense that we build a business that allows us to give community members back some time to spend with their families.”

In preparation of the grand opening, Lloyd and Katie spent nearly two weeks completing an extensive administrative and technical training program at The Maids’ corporate headquarters in Omaha, Neb., as well as six weeks of training prior to their arrival, and two weeks of training in their local office. “This training offered us the tools we need to come back and train our staff,” Lloyd explains.  “We know our business is based on caring for our customers homes and we intend to do this by caring for our employees and ensuring they have the support and materials they need to be successful.”
