Damilsy Santana, team leader for the Greensboro, N.C., Green Team, became a naturalized citizen of the United States on May 20, 2008.  Damilsy along with her husband Jorge Luis Hernadez and sons took the oath of allegiance together and became citizens as a family. Damilsy was born in Havana, Cuba and moved to Greensboro with her family in 1998. 

Damilsy says, "I am proud to be an American citizen.  I feel great because I can vote this year, and I have my United States passport." 

The Greensboro team recently celebrated Damilsy's new citizenship with a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and delicious pastries. Congratulations to Damilsy and her family.
