The Bjorn's were drawn to the residential housecleaning business because of the continuing demand and growth of the target market-dual-income households. They purchased their first The Maids Home Services franchise in 1994 and their second in 2001. They are expanding their profit base by adding additional services to their maid service menu such as carpet cleaning.
"We focused on residential housecleaning opportunities from the start. The only alternative that we seriously considered was to remain in our professional careers, but we eventually decided that we wanted to own and run our own business. If we had set out on this journey as an independent, we would have been out of business long ago. The Maids Home Services has provided the systems, support, and counsel that have been critical to our success."
