The Maids is a franchise residential cleaning service that is based in Omaha, Nebraska and was started by Dan Bishop in 1979.  The business has been successful finding and exploiting a market niche where the demand is for consistent quality of cleaning, honest and trustworthy employees, dependability and integrity.  The Maids offers thorough and dependable cleaning, utilizing the team concept and environmentally-preferable products, equipment and methods. 

The Maids began cleaning homes in the metro Birmingham area in 1984.  In June of 1987 David and Kathy Senseman purchased the operation.  The Senseman operation has expanded into Montgomery, Huntsville and the Roswell area of Atlanta.   We have grown to be Alabama's most popular maid service. With our 22-step Healthy Touch® Cleaning System, we give you the healthiest, most thorough housecleaning ever! The Maids insures and bonds our employees, pays all employment taxes and guarantees all of our work. The Maids' success is a result of our commitment to service and to our customers.

As a result of upholding these standards, we have received many acclaims.  The Maids has received many franchise awards to include 1990 The Maids International Franchise of the Year.  In 1991 our operation received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Franchise Association for contributions to franchising in a free economy. The Maids has received the Highest Annual Sales Award for The Maids franchise system every year since 2002.  The Maids was named the #1 maid service for "Companies We Admire" by Birmingham Magazine, which said, "The Maids has received consistently outstanding national recognition for a locally owned husband-and-wife franchise."  Atlanta’s based Appen Newspapers voted The Maids to be the “Best of the Northside.”
 
The Maids has a commitment to give back to the community.  We are large annual contributors to The Exceptional Foundation, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Alabama Symphony, Roswell Woman’s Club and many local charities and schools.  The Maids is a sponsor of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama and all of The Maids “yellow” company cars proudly display their license plates.  The Maids is a member of all the local Chamber of Commerces and the Better Business Bureau.
